Nurses’ Merit Award – Nurse Sambandam Sathya
11 July 2025
“From a young age, I’ve always wanted to care for others. Nursing felt like a meaningful way to touch lives and make a difference every single day.
Once, a patient told me that I was like his daughter. His words have always stayed with me, because it reminds me of how our presence and kindness can mean the world to a patient who feels alone. Even on busy or tiring days, I know that by doing my job well, I can help someone feel better, feel safe, or feel cared for. That’s what keeps me going.Being a nurse is about being present, compassionate, and dependable. It means putting others before yourself and doing your best to make their journey a little easier. It is a very meaningful and noble role that I take pride in every day.”
