Venepuncture and Peripheral Intravenous Cannulation Course for Nurses
This course equips nurses with the knowledge, skills and professional attitudes required to safely perform venepuncture and peripheral intravenous cannulation (VPIC) in clinical practice. The programme covers the fundamental principles of venous anatomy, indications and contraindications, equipment preparation, and techniques for safe blood sampling and intravenous access.

Who Should Attend
Registered Nurses (RNs) and Enrolled Nurses (ENs) who require training or competency certification in venepuncture and peripheral intravenous cannulation.
Training Details
Total: 11 hours
• Theoretical component: 8 hours (includes lectures, discussions, simulation practice, theory assessment and practical assessment).
• Clinical component: 3 hours of supervised clinical competency assessment through successful completion of venepuncture and peripheral intravenous cannulation procedures in the clinical setting within 12 weeks of course completion.
