Volunteers
Our volunteers play a vital role in supporting patients, whether they are ambulant, bed-bound, or in isolation wards, bringing comfort, joy, and purpose to their daily lives.
Together, they contribute over 1,000 hours each year, creating moments of cognitive stimulation, emotional connection, and encouragement that help patients in their recover.
More than helpers, our volunteers are companions, advocates, and key partners in building a community of hope and healing.
We welcome individuals, schools, and corporate groups to be part of this journey and help make a meaningful difference.
Types of Volunteer Programmes
Group Activities
Patients participate in regularly scheduled activities facilitated and supported by our volunteers. Activities such as Seated Taichi and Pet Therapy are some of the psycho-social activities for patients to engage in cognitively stimulating activities.
Bedside Activities
Our bedbound and less ambulant patients are actively engaged through bedside activities such as horticulture. These activities encourage emotional and psychological well-being as patients continue to be connected to others.
Skills Based
Skills such as photography, hair cutting and craft work are essential to the care we provide to our patients. We invite volunteers with skills or talents you’d like to share so that we can foster connection in our community, together.
Special Projects
We host special activities such festive celebrations and distributions with support from group volunteers. These activities allow improved patients morale and social connection. Groups can reach out to the Volunteer Management team to organise special projects.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Corporate groups can play a transformative role in supporting and enhancing patient care. Groups can explore skills-based volunteering where your team volunteers your professional expertise or team bonding sessions that will improve staff morale.
Values In Action (VIA)
Music performances, mini carnivals and painting are some creative activities that our student volunteers have organised for our patients. We work with students conducting their VIA sessions to ensure activities are aligned with patients’ rehabilitation goals while also maximising engagement.
