Staff Accolades

Mr Chionh Yang Kok, Ward Manager at AMK-THKH was among more than 30 outstanding nurses to receive the Ministry of Health (MOH)’s Nurses Merit Award 2011 at the Annual Nurses Dinner and Dance on 16 July 2011.
The Award, which recognises nurses who have shown exemplary conduct and dedication to the nursing profession, was presented by Minister for Health, Mr Gan Kim Yong.
Mr Chionh, who has over four decades of experience, embarked on the nursing profession as he felt a calling to serve the ill and the infirm even as a teenager. His passion for nursing grew as he progressed in his nursing career.
“I realised that nursing is not just about helping people recover from an illness or saving lives. We can make a difference in patients’ lives by caring for them with our hearts, be patient and understand their needs,” Mr Chionh shared.
Mr Chionh takes great pride in his work. Seeing it as a way of giving back to society, the conscientious ward manager makes an effort to spend time with all the patients under his care regularly.
His dedication to patient care is indeed an inspiration to all nurses in AMK-THKH.
