The Singapore Health Quality Service Award (SHQSA) 2012 recognized 20 Medical, Nursing, Allied Health, Ancillary and Administrative staff from the Ang Mo Kio - Thye Hua Kwan Hospital (AMK-THKH) on 13 January 2012 for their commitment in delivering exceptional care and service for patients.

AMK-THKH also received the SHQSA merit award for its service improvement initiative ‘Pre-Admission Patient Visits’ (PAPV). Initiated in 2010, the PAPV team visits patients prior to transfer to AMK-THKH who are referred, accepted and awaiting transfer from Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) and Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH). This initiative has enabled the Hospital to identify patients with issues that were not surfaced during the referral process. This additional information has allowed and enabled the AMK-THKH trans-disciplinary team to better prepare for patients’ admission.
